Cox Farm 2010

Today we went to Cox Farms for their Fall Festival. We had a great time, except for the fact it was really hot for October. While there Tim and Tyler went down a Giant slide, we walked through the CORNudrum cornfield, visited Goat Village, played at the Kiddie Zone, rode the Hay Ride, and saw lots of farm animals and their babies. The boys also got a patch pumpkin each to take home. Can't wait to go back next year!

And so potty training begins...

A while back we bought Tyler an insert for the toilet and his very own step stool to get him used to the idea of actually using the potty. Initially the entire concept didn't go over very well and with Kyle coming along we didn't put much effort into it either. We introduced him a few more times to his little seat and pretty much forced him to sit on it, but he never would go. He would just tell us he was "all done" as soon as he sat down and would try to get back up. Well tonight for the very first time Tyler went poo-poo on the big potty!!! Looks like I am going to be breaking out the Elmo's Potty Time DVD again. I'm very proud of him, although I'm not looking forward to this whole potty training process. Any suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated. =)

Kyle's 2 Month Well Baby Check-up

Today was Kyle's two month appointment with his pediatrician. Poor guy had to get 3 shots and 1 oral medication, but overall he did really well. So how is he measuring up:

• Weight: 13lb2 8.8oz / 80%
• Height: 23 in / 50%
• Head Circumference: 16 cm / 75%

Dr. Christian said he looks perfect and is a very healthy little boy. He has already passed up Tyler in weight at this age. Tyler was only 11lbs 13.6oz at two month old, but he was 24in long.

Kyle is such a good little boy. He pretty much just eats, sleeps, and poops. =) He has started sleeping one 6 hour stretch during the night, which is great. I am hoping he will get to 8 hours in the next 2 weeks as I have to go back to work on October 18th.

We took the boys to get family pictures taken today. I think we wound up with some great pictures, even though Tyler didn't want to cooperate. I have to give credit to JCPenney Portrait Studios at Dulles Town Center for being extremely patient with us.

Baby Gibson #2 Update

Today we went for our 12 week First Trimester screening for Baby Gibson #2 and everything is looking great. We measured a little early at 11 weeks and 4 days, but the doctor is not going to change our August 5th due date. During the ultra sound Baby was VERY active with bouncing and wiggling around. His/her heartbeat measured at 156 beats per minute and additional measurements/fluid levels look good. Next appointment is on February 10th. Here is a picture of the little one.

I know it has been a long time since I've posted an update, but time has really flown since Tyler's 1st Birthday. Since his party Tyler is officially walking! He started the day before Thanksgiving. We thought it was a fluke, but he took 4 steps from his MiMi to Daddy. The next day he was walking across the room. He still looks like a very unsteady Frankenstein, but boy does he get around. He is also a very curious little person. He is constantly pointing at things and saying "uh-da". We think it is his version of "What's that?" He also LOVES music. As soon as he hears music he starts dancing like crazy. He has the most amazing little personality.

Tyler First Birthday Party

Unlike this time last year surrounded by many loved ones at the hospital rejoicing the arrival of Tyler, this year we were surrounded by many family and friends at our home, celebrating his big first birthday! October 31st our little pumpkin enjoyed a costume birthday party filled with lots of fun!!

UPDATE: Tyler is a year old!

Today was Tyler's 12 month check up. He is doing really well! Here is the update:

Weight: 21lbs 10.8oz (25-50%)
Height: 30 inches (50%)
Head Circumference: 18 3/4 inches (90%)
Sleeping Pattern: 9 hours (9:00pm - 6:00am)

What Tyler Likes: Climbing up the stairs; His talking Elmo; Watching Sesame Street; Watching an airplane flying by; Banging on anything/everything; Playing with his blocks of different shapes and colors; Eating; Mimicking adult’s behavior

What Tyler Dislikes: Being wiped up after he eats; Diaper changes

Tyler is Learning: Body parts (ears, eyes, nose...; Touch Down (arms in the air); Ear muffs (covers his ears)

Halloween Parade at Daycare

This morning Tyler's daycare had a parade to celebrate Halloween. Unfortunately we got there just as the parade ended; however we were able to catch all of Tyler's classmates still in their costumes.
