Finally Back Home

Well we are finally back home. We got to the house around 1:15pm this afternoon. It is nice to be home, but I definitely wouldn't mind still being at the beach. We are looking forward to sleeping in our own bed tonight though. Speaking of sleeping in your own bed... I put Tyler down for a nap this evening and went into our room to unpack some more. After about 20 minutes I heard him talking and clapping. I thought the clapping sounded a little strange though, so I walked to his room to check on him. This is what I found:

Turns out he wasn't clapping he was banging on the railing of his crib. :) Needless to say the bumper has now been removed and the mattress has been lowered.

Tyler also has his first tooth breaking through! We can feel the very tip and you can see it if you are close. I'll be sure to post a picture as soon as his tooth is in.

Our Last Full Day At the Beach

Unfortunately today is our last full day at the beach. Because of Hurricane Bill we weren't able to lay out on the beach, but we did go down to check out the waves.

Here is MeeMa, Pap and Tyler:

The water got them!

The waves were pretty big:

Tyler wanted to walk like a big boy:

And this is me after being taken out by a wave. Tim and I were posing for a picture with Tyler and a wave took my feet right out from under me. Thankfully Tim had Tyler and they were fine, but I now know why they had the no swimming flags up. The current was so strong it was pulling me back and I couldn't get myself back up. Tim had to help me.

Another Fantastic Day at the Beach!

We had another fantastic day at the beach! We bought Tyler his first Outer Banks T-shirt, had one made for him and got him one long sleeve t-shirt and one sweat shirt. His Meemaw and Pap got him some really cool new toys to play with too. We stopped for some homemade ice cream and Tim, Tyler and I took a nice long walk on the beach before Tyler went to bed for the night. Hurricane Bill is making some crazy waves here this evening. Now I'm watching Grease while Tim streams the Vikings second pre-season game. :o)

Our Family Vacation -- Day Three

This morning we had another great morning out on the beach:

This afternoon we went to Corolla to drive on the beach and try to find some of the wild horses.

We drove a good distance down the beach and eventually turned around to head back to town:

On the return trip two more horses joined the group we first saw:

Driving on the beach is tiring. :o)

Our Family Vacation 2009

On Friday we packed up the car and headed south for our first family vacation! Our first stop was to visit our friends Jenny, Kevin, Crystine, Clint and Amber at the Bay. They had been vacationing there for the week and invited us to come for a visit.

On Sunday we left the Bay and headed to North Carolina. On the way we stopped in Portsmouth to visit Tyler's Great-Grandma Renfrow.

Tyler and his Great-Aunt Nancy:

After our visit we continued down the road to North Carolina. We arrived around 4:30pm on Sunday and have really been enjoying ourselves. This morning we went down to the beach and Tyler seemed to have a good time.
